The Bentley electric car can have over 1,300 horsepower, the brand boss suggested

The first Bentley electric car is to be in the world in 2025. And it could have over 1,300 horses. This follows from the statement of the brand’s CEO Adrian Hallmark for the Automotive News Europe website.

“If we’re now on 659 horsepower with GT Speed, we’ll double our electric car,” he said. This would mean that we can expect a performance of around 1318 horses.

“It simply came to our notice then. Accelerating from zero to 60 mph (97 km / h) in 2.4 seconds is an exciting ten times. And then you start to feel bad about it, “he continued, suggesting the possibility of adjusting the acceleration rate with a driver:” You can have acceleration from zero to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. Or you can switch it to 1.5 seconds. “

So what good would such a performance, if not for an overwhelming acceleration from zero? For overwhelming elastic acceleration – in other words, for graceful and unforced overtaking thanks to a huge supply of torque.

“Most people enjoy flexible acceleration from 30 to 70 miles per hour (48-113 km / h) more often than a sharp start, or from 30 to 150 miles per hour (48-240 km / h) in Germany,” he explains. Hallmark.

Will a Bentley electric car be more expensive than its internal combustion cars? Probably not by much, although one of the options will cost over a quarter of a million euros (6.16 million crowns). But the price will not be high due to the batteries.

The brand’s first electric car will be based on the PPE platform, developed by the Audi brand. However, according to Hallmark, the attributes of Bentley were already built during the development, the electric bentley will not stand on a platform adapted from “plebeian” cars. The brand wants to sell only electric cars from 2030, which means that even the successors of currently sold models will run on electricity.
