Henry ‘Hank’ McCoy is an anomalous character in the Marvel universe, where he has set himself apart from others not only because of his physical strength, but also because of his intelligence. So perhaps it’s fitting that the tome dedicated to him, with the questionable superhero name of Beast, is also unlike all the others.
To begin with, because this volume does not contain any work that was originally published with Beast’s name on the cover and not what would strictly be his first appearance. Instead, it includes his participation in Amazing Adventures and in an episode of The Incredible Hulk, published in the early 70s.
