The Batman Part 2 faces hurdles as production is delayed due to WGA strike

Not unlike Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, Batman Part 2 He has faced one challenge after another. Hopefully, this final hurdle is the last hurdle Matt Reeves and team face in getting production smooth and creating what could be the greatest Batman movie of all time, following up on his groundbreaking take on the character from the first film.

Batman was no stranger to his own problems, such as Reeves thinking he lost Robert Pattinson to Tenet, production being put on hold due to Pattinson testing positive for COVID, and even having to recreate Wabash Station on a soundstage due to the pandemic. However, with a new movie comes new problems.

The Midgard Times reports that filming for The Batman Part 2 has been delayed from November to March 2024. Matt Reeves, Mattson Tomlin and Colin Farrell are fully supportive of the strike, having been seen on the front lines with other writers. As a result, The Penguin has halted production due to the WGA writers’ strike, which is likely why The Batman Part 2 pushed its filming timeline back. This presents its own uncertainties because there is currently no foreseeable conclusion to the strikes any time soon, with some theorizing it could be as long as a year.

Ryan Reynolds is currently unable to improvise on Deadpool 3 due to the WGA Strike, which doesn’t bode well for a movie of that nature, but in the case of The Batman and The Penguin, production should be delayed rather than continue. Those same obstacles. Despite these hurdles, WGA Strike is affecting all of Hollywood, and rightly so, but they’re not issues that exist exclusively in The Batman sequel. However, thissongissick reported that London’s Printworks, the venue transformed into the Iceberg Lounge, had been closed and will be renovated for offices, so it cannot be used for The Batman Part 2.

Fans have pointed out that Warner Bros. had already bought a Chicago subway car to film the opening of The Batman and point to other instances, like the Wachowskis building an entire freeway to film the iconic chase scene in The Matrix Reloaded, to suggest why this will not be too inconvenient. It is unknown how this news has affected the television series El Pingüino; one might imagine that the contracts with the location were already in place to continue filming there or that filming at the location had already been completed, so the MAX series shouldn’t be affected by these issues. Gotham was flooded at the end of The Batman, so it also presents story-related opportunities for relocating Iceberg Lounge, presumably under new Oswald Cobblepot management after what will happen in The Penguin.

The batman part 2 it is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2025.
