Not even the excellent moment that Real Madrid is going through was enough for the fans to forgive Gareth Bale.
Two years later, the Welsh international returned to play at the Santiago Bernabéu and was the subject of tremendous whistling from the stands when he replaced Karim Benzema in the 74th minute of the game against Getafe (2-0).
The various and very controversial statements made by the forward have not gone down well in Madrid and the Merengue fans have noticed.
Since June 24, 2020, Gareth Bale has not been on the pitch at the Santiago Bernabéu: either due to injuries or not counting on Carlo Ancelotti, the Welshman had not played a single minute this season in Real Madrid’s home games.
