The three suspects of the death of a young man in Campo Grande, Lisbon, were detained on Tuesday after being presented for the first judicial interrogation before a criminal investigating judge.
This is the most severe measure of coercion enforced by the Lisbon Court of Criminal Instruction (ICT), where the defendants were heard on Tuesday afternoon.
The three suspects were formally detained on Monday and indicted for the crime of murder.
In a statement issued that day, the Judiciary Police (PJ) had announced that it “located, identified and detained three men, 16, 17 and 20 years old, strongly indicted for co-perpetrating crimes of homicide and robbery. ».
The 24-year-old was murdered on December 28 and was the son of a former PJ chief inspector.
He was shot dead by a group of robbers while returning from a fast food restaurant near the Faculty of Sciences in Campo Grande, admitting that he offered resistance to the attackers, who stabbed him, causing him to die on the spot. .
According to PJ, the young man was hit “with two blows from a large bladed weapon” and “died on the spot”.
The detainees “are also suspected of a crime of theft, committed the same day, in the same area about a student passing by”, the statement said.
The PJ also indicated that it seized the weapon used in the crime, as well as more than 50 individual doses of cocaine.
