Rafael Nadal was eliminated this Friday by Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals of the Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco.
The Majorcan tennis player, winner of the Monegasque tournament 11 times, was on ‘no day’ and made numerous unforced errors and saw the service broken seven times, yielding to the young Russian by the 2-6, 6-4 and 2-6, in just over two and a half hours of play.
To compete for the final, Andrey Rublev will face Norwegian Casper Ruud, who eliminated Fabio Fognini.
In the other semi-final will be the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and the English Daniel Evans.
