The Bafa training organized in Bagnols attracts many young people

The Sainte-Marie vocational high school hosts Bafa internships twice a year in its premises. Twelve young people benefited from this training in February.

It’s been five years since the high school launched this partnership, the students of the Sainte-Marie vocational high school can participate in this training open to all, “like that, the young people of Bagnols do not have to run to Nîmes or Avignon to benefit from training” explains the director of the establishment.

Most of them have worked in animation before. “I discovered this area by doing civic service, it made me want to take my Bafa to have a qualification” explains Fatima, who is currently attending the training.

Kamilia, another student, discovered the small world of animation while working in a day center. “I really liked it, so I would like to continue working in this, especially during the holidays.”

A “top” team

In the morning, Morad and Malika, the two trainers for this February session, organize theoretical courses and in the afternoon, role-playing. Bagnols training is organized as an externship: “We also run internship training in other cities, but the externship makes the Bafa internship more accessible because the cost is lower”, explains the trainer.

With the curfew, the hours are adapted. “We have a lot of fewer hours, but it’s really a quality education. It’s very dense but super interesting” ensures, delighted, Kévin, the only boy of this session.

All the students agree that they have “a top team!” It must be said that Malika and Morad, the two animators, are passionate. “We made the choice to work with children, and it is an important mission because the future is them. We are helping to build the world of tomorrow” says Malika.

“We have two salaries when we work in animation, the one that pays us financially but also the recognition of children”, Morad continues.

After this first training session, the young people will continue with an internship in animation lasting at least fourteen days and a second week of in-depth training.
