Activision suddenly announced that Vicarious Visions will become part Blizzard, although before that the studio worked as part of Activision.

The merger happened today, and more creators Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will not create games as lead developer. The exact reasons for the decision were not reported, but it is noted that Blizzard saw great potential in the studio.

Vicarious Visions chief executive Jen Oneal has become executive vice president of operations for Blizzard. She will have to communicate directly with the head of Blizzard Jay Allen Brack.

Vicarious Visions became part of Activision in 2005, having worked on numerous games for the company, including Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Crash Bandicoot, Destiny, Spyro, Skylanders, and Call of Duty. In addition, it was VV who did Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro for the first PlayStation.
