YOUTH PARTICIPATION

The new president of the CDE, Valentino Maillot, a student at Secondary School 7, commented on his feelings in this regard: “I am extremely happy and joyful, I had already started helping from here last year and it makes me very happy to actively participate in the debates that are generated around the reality in which we live. We receive a lot of accompaniment from the councilors of Together and the Front of All and I want to thank them for supporting us young people so that we can participate politically”.

“It is very important that all the young people of Junín be heard and having this type of space to express ourselves is essential for democratic life,” said Maillot.

In her turn, Delfina Benito, from the Marianist School, elected vice president of the student body, stressed: “Honestly, I was very interested in participating in this political space, it seems incredible that young people like us carry out these functions and on behalf of our colleagues from each school. What interests us most is expressing our voice, saying what we like and what we don’t like in order to change something”.

“Among all the proposals that arise, obviously there are going to be a lot, we are going to have different ideas, but the important thing is that we can achieve the necessary consensus for the benefit of the common good,” said Benito.

JOINT WORK

Once the democratic process was finished, Melina Fiel, councilor of Juntos and president of the Education and Culture Commission of the Deliberative Council, stated: “We lived a beautiful day of a lot of democratic participation, with many young people involved with a great desire to participate in politics. It fills us with satisfaction to listen to your debates and the presentations you made for the election of the new authorities of the student body”. Later, she maintained that “it was a very hard-fought election, vote by vote, with many students who participated in the best way.”

Next, Fiel expressed that “we went from school to school and the vast majority of public and private educational institutions in Junín participate with great joy in this electoral process” and highlighted “as a councilman, the only thing I feel is pride in seeing so many young people committed to the community and hopefully many of them will occupy the seats of the Deliberative Council tomorrow”.

For her part, Lucila Laguzzi, councilor of the Frente de Todos block, said: “We are very happy with the number of students who came to participate in this program, after visiting almost all the schools that we carried out. It is a super interesting program that I personally took part in 10 years ago, and today we are here to listen to their voices, learn about their ideas and accompany them in this process of generating projects and working to carry them out”.

“We want to support them so that the vast majority can continue with a political career in the not too distant future. Politics is a tool for transformation and the fact that these young people come to bring their ideas to transform the city fills us with pride”, concluded the mayor.
