The results of these auctions, which ended Wednesday, exceeded the total proceeds from previous James Bond-related charity auctions organized by Christie’s, the auction house announced.
All 61 items sold by Eon Productions, the company that produced the James Bond films, found buyers during this auction, which was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the series’ launch on movie screens.
Proceeds from the auction go to 45 associations, including the Prince Charles Foundation (which bears his name before he became king after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II) on 8 September, as well as other associations, including the Red Cross and UNICEF. A copy of the Aston Martin DB5 used in the James Bond stunt scenes (“No Time to Die”) sold for £ 2,922 million ($ 3.35 million). An “Omega” brand watch, worn by actor Daniel Craig when this film was released in 2021, sold for £ 226,800 (about $ 260,000). The costume worn by this actor in the 2012 film “Skyfall” sold for £ 44,100 (approximately $ 50,000).
