attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) RI scheduled an examination of the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate on Thursday (9/2).

Kapuspenkum Ketut Sumedana said Jhonny would be examined as a witness in the alleged corruption case in the provision of 4G base transceiver station (BTS) towers and supporting infrastructure 2,3,4 and 5 BAKTI Kominfo.

“I received information that investigators will be summoned tomorrow,” he said when confirmed, Wednesday (8/2).

He confirmed that the Attorney General’s Office had sent an examination summons letter to the NasDem politician. Nevertheless, Ketut admitted that he did not know whether Plate would attend or not at the examination.

“Regarding the presence in question I do not know,” he explained.

In this case, the AGO previously named four people as suspects. One of them is the Main Director of BAKTI Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif (AAL).

Meanwhile, the other three suspects come from the private sector, namely the Main Director of PT Mora Telematics Indonesia with the initials GMS, University of Indonesia 2020 Human Development Expert (HUDEV) with the initials YS, and Account Director of the Integrated Account Department of PT Huawei Tech Investment Mukti Ali.

Kuntadi explained that in this case, the Bakti Kominfo 4G BTS tower development project was actually carried out to provide digital services in frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) areas.

In its planning, Kominfo plans to build 4,200 BTS towers in various regions of Indonesia. However, he said, the three suspects were proven to have committed an illegal act by manipulating and conditioning the project tender process.
