KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has instructed his staff to immediately arrest convicted transferring the right to claim Bank Bali named Djoko Sugiarto Tjandra. According to information, Djoko Tjandra who has been on the run for many years will submit a review (PK) in the South Jakarta District Court.

“I have ordered arrest and execution,” said Burhanuddin in a joint meeting of the House of Representatives Commission III at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (6/29/2020).

Djoko Tjandra is said to be applying for a PK this Monday. He mentioned, some time later the prosecutor’s office tried to find Djoko Tjandra but it had not produced results. “Djoko Tjandra is our fugitive and we plan that we have been searching for three days, but it has not yet appeared,” he said.

“On this day, he submitted a PK in the South Jakarta District Court,” said the Attorney General.

Attorney General M Prasetyo, admitted that it was not easy to arrest Djoko Sugiarto Tjandra who was still at large. Djoko was later found to be changing citizenship to become a citizen of Papua New Guinea. “That is the difficulty we face. Including Samadikun, he has five passports. Among them, Edy Tansil, Djoko Tjandra is certain to change citizenship,” Prasetyo said in his office on Monday (4/25/2016).

Prasetyo suspects that Djoko is protected by his country at this time. Later, Djoko reportedly also moved to Singapore. It also made it difficult for the AGO to return Djoko Tjandra due to the absence of an extradition treaty. “If we chase people and we eat in the same restaurant, we can’t just try to get him. That’s like that,” Prasetyo said.

In that case, the South Jakarta District Court ruled that Djoko was free of charges. Then, in October 2008 the Attorney General’s Office conducted a review to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court accepted and declared that the Director of PT Era Giat Prima was guilty.

Djoko was sentenced to two years in prison and had to pay a fine of Rp. 15 million and his money at Bank Bali in the amount of Rp. 546 billion was confiscated for the state. However, the day before the Supreme Court ruling in June 2009, Djoko Tjandra allegedly fled leaving Indonesia by chartered plane from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Port Moresby.

Djoko was later found to have moved citizenship to Papua New Guinea in June 2012. However, the transfer of citizenship status was invalid, because Djoko still had legal problems in Indonesia.
