2. Swimming – World Championships: Grousset the advent, Henique the rebirth
After a silver medal in the 100m freestyle on Wednesday, Maxime Grousset took bronze on Friday in the final of the 50m freestyle at the Budapest Worlds, where Mélanie Henique went for silver in the 50m butterfly, eleven years after her last world medal. The two swimmers bring the Blues their seventh and eighth medals in these Worlds disputed on the banks of the Danube.

3. Athletics – United States Championship: MPM and the title for Kerley
Kerley sends a message to Eugene. American Fred Kerley set the best world performance of the year by running the 100 meters in 9.76 seconds in the semi-finals of the United States Championships, qualifiers for the World Athletics Championships, before winning the title in the final, Friday in Eugene, Oregon. The 27-year-old sprinter, who ran with an authorized wind of 1.4 m/sec, erased the reference time of 9.83 he had achieved the day before in the heats. Which makes him the 6th best performer in history.

- Football – Ligue 1 :Christophe Galtier is getting closer to PSG. According to information from Goal and Le Parisien, the club from the capital has reached an economic agreement with OGC Nice for the arrival of the technician. The amount would be much lower than the 10 million euros mentioned.

- Golf – LPGA : South Korean In-gee Chun, who had achieved a record first round the day before with a card of 64, did less well on Friday (69), but her lead at the top of the LPGA Championship fell from five to six strokes.
- Olympic Games 2026 – Nordic Combined : The Nordic combined has saved its place on the program of the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan, which will still approach parity with 47% of female participation, announced Friday the International Olympic Committee.
- Golf – Traveler’s Championship : The American Xander Schauffele, author of the best card on Friday (63), took to their heels at the head of the Traveler’s Championship, a test on the North American PGA circuit, to be five strokes ahead of the competition.
