The Army Chief of Staff’s Directions in the Prada Candra Case Killed Persecuted by 6 Soldiers

Prada Candra Gerson Kumaralo died allegedly because he was abused by elements of the TNI Battalion Raider 715. The Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Andika Perkasa emphasized that his party was open in the law enforcement process.

The KSAD’s directive was conveyed by the Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Tatang Subarna in a written statement from the Army Information Service, Sunday (5/9/2021). Soldiers who violate will be processed according to applicable regulations.

“The TNI Army will be open in the law enforcement process for unscrupulous soldiers who violate the rules & regulations,” said Tatang conveying the message of the Army Chief of Staff.

Tatang explained that the acts of persecution were carried out by six soldiers. The six have now been detained.

“That the six suspects who perpetrated the mistreatment of Prada Chandra Gerson Kumaralo, all of them are in detention and have finished undergoing examination by the Military Police Investigation Team of Kodam XIII/Merdeka,” said Tatang.

Tatang said, until now the legal process is still ongoing. In addition, the six have now been named as suspects and will be processed further in the Military Court.

“The case files for all the suspects have been transferred to the Manado IV-18 Military Auditor on August 23, 2021,” Tatang wrote.

Furthermore, Tatang emphasized that the TNI Army will oversee the legal process in the Military Court to completion.
