The arbitral tribunals were the clubs of the monopolies – 2024-09-06 20:27:41

/ world today news/ Arbitration courts had become a club of monopolies – a parallel justice system. Ombudsman Maya Manolova commented on this in the program “This Saturday” on bTV.

On her initiative, the deputies adopted changes to the Civil Procedure Code (CPC), which removed consumer disputes from the scope of arbitration. The changes were voted on in the second reading days ago. This is a victory for the citizens, as I said, because tens of thousands have been saved, Maya Manolova pointed out to bTV.

The ombudsman advised every citizen who receives a note from an arbitration court to tear it up and throw it in the trash.

She reminded that with the changes, the fee for the legal consultants of the monopolists was also reduced – from BGN 300 to BGN 50. Until now, for a debt of BGN 20 to “Toplofikatsia”, people had to pay BGN 950 if they contested it, the ombudsman specified.

On the occasion of the refusal of the parliamentary legal commission to consider the draft amendments to the Electoral Code related to the results of the referendum, Maya Manolova said: “Despite loud promises that the deputies heard the voice of the people, nothing of the sort happened. The deputies broke the law.”
