Well yes: another film year, another occasion for those responsible for the Golden Raspberry Awards (better known as the Razzies) to use their ingenuity to select what should be considered the worst of the season. Awards Watch echoes the titles that populate the main categories of the 2021 edition (all of the nominees will be revealed next March 14, a day before the announcement of the Oscar nominations), and unsurprisinglyMusic of Be Y Hillbilly, a rural elegyof Ron Howard they have quite a presence.
Curiously, after having paraded for the Golden Globes, and there is a very remarkable possibility that Glenn Close could be nominated for an Oscar at the same time that she is considered worst actress by the Razzies. This year, the films with the most ignominious nominations are The Adventures of Doctor Dolittle (with Robert Downey Jr. in two categories for worst actor and worst “combo” next to his Welsh accent) and 365 days, remake polish from Fifty Shades of Grey that starts with six nominations, just like Dolittle.
The horror film Fantasy Island has five, and other prominent titles in the shortlist are El Halloween the Hubie of Adam Sandler, the documentary Absolute Proof (of which we have no news in Spain), the films ofBarbie & Kendra (more of the same) or Wonder Woman 1984, nominated for worst sequel and worst supporting actress, for Kristen Wiig. The Razzies will be delivered on April 24, also a day before the Oscars.
