It has already been reported that the Mežaparks Grand Stage has acquired the form of the Silver Grove on the Hill of Songs designed by its authors, architects Juris Pogas and Austra Mailītis. The branched “tree pattern” and other metal structures are made of 1766 tons of metal. The unique construction rises to a height of 35.8 meters. 510 acoustic shields are installed on metal busbars. Thus, this object is recognized at the European level as a unique one with an individual acoustic solution.

The new stage will feature 12,874 choirs, almost twice as many as before, as well as hosting dancers in the expanded dance floor.

The renovation of the Mežaparks Grand Stage began on March 11, 2016, when Riga Municipality and the Latvian National Cultural Center signed an agreement with the architects’ offices of Juris Poga and Austra Mailitis on the development of a construction project.
