Accumulated rainfall in the whole of Spain since the hydrological year began on October 1, 2019 until February 18 exceeds the normal value by 10 percent, when collecting an average of 370 liters per square meter, when the average value normal corresponding to said period is 335 liters per square meter for the whole of Spain, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

Thus, during the period from February 12 to 18, rainfall was scarce and scattered throughout the peninsula, not exceeding at any point 10 liters per square meter except in Galicia, Asturias and some more isolated area of ​​Cantabria, Basque Country and the Community of Madrid. On February 19 there was no rainfall.



In the provinces of A Coruña and Pontevedra, 40 liters per square meter were reached, with some specific area in both provinces exceeding 60 liters per square meter. Among the accumulated rainfall in main observatories stand out the 28 liters per square meter in Pontevedra; 27 liters per square meter in Santiago de Compostela / Labacolla; 24 liters per square meter in Vigo / Peinador; 20 liters per square meter in Madrid / Cuatro Vientos and 18 liters per square meter in Asturias / Avilés.

The accumulated amounts are above their normal values ​​in the whole territory except in the south-western peninsula, in the Central system, in an area in the interior of Castilla y León, in the Pitiusas and in the Canary Islands.

The precipitations get to double their normal value in the south of Valencia and north of Alicante and in the strip between Tarragona and Lleida. On the other hand, the accumulated rainfall does not reach 75 percent of the normal values ​​in most of the Canary Islands, in the Huelva coast and part of Cadiz and Malaga, in the southern half of Seville and in areas of Badajoz and the north. from Córdoba, in the west of Castilla-La Mancha and in the east of Madrid and south of Burgos.
