The 8am news – Coronavirus: how the Dijon University Hospital is preparing to launch the vaccination campaign

This Sunday, December 27 marks the start of the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus in France where caregivers and residents of two nursing homes, located in Dijon and Sevran, will be administered the first doses of the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine. Before the injections scheduled for the afternoon in the city of Côte-d’Or, everything is organized under high security.

Six bottles were transported there at midday, Saturday, in a white van from Paris and escorted by the gendarmerie then by the police. For its part, the Champmaillot nursing home, which depends on the Dijon University Hospital, has been preparing for more than a week for this vaccination campaign with the implementation of logistics, the preparation of the dedicated room and the collection of consents.

The number of residents who have agreed to be vaccinated is not yet known while the first injections are scheduled at 2 p.m.. Until then, the precious doses of the vaccine are stored in an undisclosed place, within the Burgundy University Hospital, which is located in the region of France most affected by the virus.
