The 50 most popular tourist attractions in the US

The day most awaited by thousands of tourists from all over the world has finally arrived: the US opens its borders again this Monday, November 8, after 18 months of total closure due to the pandemic. The improvement in the situation has led the White House to relax the entry requirements for travelers from more than 30 countries, including those from the European Union.

Among the main conditions that are required of travelers arriving by plane is that of presenting proof of vaccination with the complete official schedule, accompanied by the results of a negative anticovid test carried out in the three days prior to the date of departure. People with medical problems and those under 18 years of age are exempt from this obligation, and must undergo a test three days before flying if they are accompanied by a vaccinated adult, or one day before if they are traveling alone.

The reopening opens the possibility of traveling to a country, whose diversity is extraordinary

The reopening opens the door to travel again to a country whose diversity is extraordinary, something that sometimes makes it difficult to choose the destination. Do you prefer natural spaces or historical places? Theme parks or visiting markets? Zoos or museums? Whatever your choice, the truth is that making a decision is not always easy.

If you need help, you can use an illustrative map from Musement that will make things easier for you. The reservation platform for activities and experiences at the destination has prepared an infographic that allows you to see at a glance the most popular attractions and monuments in each of the 50 states; a map that discovers some of the most popular wonders of the country and that may be unknown to you.

Nature attractions and theme parks, the favorites

A quick glance at the illustration, whose colors identify the nature of each of the most popular attractions, reflects above all the natural wealth of the country. And it is that almost a third of all of them -in total 16- are national parks or outdoor experiences. Popular parks such as Yellowstone, in Wyoming, or the Grand Canyon, in Arizona, stand out; some less known by the general public, such as Hot Springs in Alabama or Blackwater Falls in West Virginia; the beautiful beaches of the coast of the Gulf Islands, in Mississippi, or New York’s Central Park.

After nature, ten states have their main tourist attractions in theme parks and attractions, something that should not surprise readers. North Americans recognize that they enjoy this type of leisure, so both lovers of strong emotions and families with children can choose from a wide range. Fans of the Disney universe cannot miss Walt Disney World, in Florida, or Disneyland Park in California, while those with a sweet tooth have in Hersheypark, Pennsylvania, a park that revolves around chocolate, or in Busch Gardens Williamsburg, in Virginia, the most beautiful park in the world.

Other especially popular attractions on the Musement map are those that feature animals as protagonists, with a considerable selection of zoos and aquariums, such as the Oregon Zoo or the Georgia Aquarium. Entertainment and shows and shopping centers and markets also arouse interest among tourists. They could not miss the experience of living Las Vegas, with its excessive Fremont Street; discover the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, an original reproduction of Noah’s Ark, or the Faneuil Hall in Massachusetts, a century-old market that opened its doors in the 18th century.

In the section on monuments and corners of historical interest, there are places of great significance for North Americans. This is the case of the Alamo, scene of one of the most decisive battles of the Texas revolution, or the Gateway Arch, in Missouri, an iconic 192-meter stainless steel monument representing the westward expansion of the US.
