The 50 best films of 2020 released in cinemas and platforms | Film and Television

2020 has been a year full of premieres. Despite the pandemic of coronavirus, from the consequent capacity limitation and the avalanche of postponements and cancellations, we have been able to enjoy some masterpieces on the big screen. Although the huge premieres are concentrated during the months of January, February, November and December for obvious reasons, thanks to platforms like Netflix O Disney we have enjoyed more titles than, a priori, would correspond to us in a black year like this.

In the selection of the 50 best films of the year we have included all those titles that have passed through theaters or that are already accessible on platforms, even if they are 2019 productions such as, for example, The lighthouse O 1917, which hit the billboard in January. Of course: we have not included brilliant titles released in film festivals –See Pressure O Nomadland– which, at the moment, have not reached the cinemas of Spain.

The movies are not ordered from best to worst, but by release date. As LOS40 has such a diverse audience in tastes, it would be difficult to be objective with the quality of the titles. What we have done is to differentiate the premieres in cinemas from the exclusive premieres of platforms, although some of these titles, such as Mank O The Chicago 7 trial, have been previewed a week before in theaters. For example, Soul and Mank would go in this second block while Tenet it would be found, logically, in the first.

In addition, when it has corresponded we have added a link with the movie reviews and a link to interviews with their directors or actors and actresses.
