Like every morning since the start of the coronavirus crisis, the Inter-federal Crisis Center Covid-19 of the FPS Public Health makes its daily press briefing around 11 am to report on the evolution of the balance sheet of the epidemic and the evolution of the general situation on Belgian territory.

Review of this Friday
- 462 people entered the hospital, “it’s a stable number”, 404 people left. The total number of hospitalized persons amounts to 5610 patients (+20). 1268 are intensive care. 7 people left intensive care. 58% of the beds are occupied.
- deaths: there are a significant number of deaths this Friday: 325 people. But these figures include the deaths of 171 people who took place during the previous weeks, mainly in nursing homes in Flanders, 114 took place at the Hospital. There are 150 in reported in the last 24 hours in Flanders, 117 in Wallonia, and 58 in Brussels. There are therefore 3019 people in total. Among them, 57% died in hospital, therefore confirmed by tests. 40% of deaths take place in nursing homes. These people therefore did not perform any tests.
- Tests: 3679 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, 1689 people were diagnosed positive: 915 in Flanders, 570 in Wallonia, 178 in Brussels. 26,667 cases are positive in total, after tests carried out. Regarding the increase in testing capacity in nursing homes, to date 5406 tests are underway in the laboratories or in the process of being carried out.
