The 15th Chartres harvest festival is canceled

The members of the association of the free commune of Saint-Brice met this Tuesday, June 9, at the Abbeys of Saint-Brice, in Chartres. And the emblematic president, Jacky Baroche, in place since 1977, was disappointed: “The fifteenth edition of the harvest festival scheduled for September 26 and 27, 2020 is postponed to September 25 and 26, 2021.”

The poster mock-up, which sits in the room, was ready, but has not been edited. The demonstration usually attracts more than 12,000 visitors, its cancellation is a halt for the association which had tied up its file before the confinement:

“The people and the speakers came from several departments. It was a meeting which met with growing popular success. “

The association also lost a dozen customers who rented the 5,000 m² plot of Clos des Trois-Ponts. Or a loss of around € 6,000.

In the meantime, the free commune of Saint-Brice is preparing open houses on September 26 and 27. An opportunity to present the activities of the association, the history of the district and its Chartres rosé.

The volunteers have also validated another project:

“We are going to plant at least three hundred vines this year near the existing five hundred. We only have two resin tanks. We will have to invest in a third. “
