The Austrian Lotteries recorded a run on the lottery draw. It is one of the greatest wins ever.
7.5 million tips by the cut-off time on Wednesday evening, that is “the realistic estimate” of the Austrian Lotteries. This would increase the total winnings for the six correct numbers to 7.5 million euros. In mathematical terms, a six is most likely with a probability of around 1: 8 million.
Top ten of the highest winnings
“As experience has shown that around 7.5 percent of all possible combinations are played with these 7.5 million tips, the chance of winning a sevenfold jackpot is also very good,” said the lotteries. By the way, a solo six would be the first after a six-fold jackpot, because the first two ended with two sixes each, the third became a seven-fold jackpot, and in the last one so far there were three sixes.
With a 7.5 million solo six, you would make the jump into the top ten of the highest lottery winnings and rank 10th. A Lower Austrian and a Styrian shared the very first six-fold jackpot, which was played out exactly on Christmas Eve 2017, and each won 6.1 million euros. There were then two winners in September 2018: Two Viennese won 5.1 million euros each.
That was the big sevenfold jackpot
The third six-fold jackpot developed into the (so far only) seven-fold jackpot in November 2018, and the fourth and so far the last saw three winners with a Burgenland, a Salzburg and a Styrian, each of whom won a good 3 million euros. So far, four six-fold jackpots have been played, which means that 24 numbers have been drawn.
It was noticed that 14 even and 10 odd numbers were drawn, although there are an odd number in the tip field, low numbers dominate, because 14 of the 24 numbers come from the lower half (1 to 22), and nine from the upper half (24 to 45); the 23 came once. In addition, the 8 and 14 (both straight and low) have been drawn twice.
With a quick tip to a millionaire
Quicktipp very popular and successful with large jackpots
The question of whether you tend to win with a quick tip, a normal ticket or a system ticket can be answered unequivocally, namely: Doesn’t matter. It is not the type of tip that is decisive, but the number of tips. With a single tip, the probability is around 1: 8 million, and a second tip doubles the chance of 1: 4 million. And so on.
In the case of large jackpots, experience has shown that the quick tip, with 60 percent, has the absolute largest share in the total number of bets (35 percent normal ticket, 5 percent system ticket). The dominance of the quick tip is even clearer for the sixers: five of the seven sixes after six-fold jackpots were achieved with a quick tip, one with a normal ticket and one with a system ticket jackpot.
