Roger Federer’s neon yellow Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance has been auctioned for 185,000 euros, auction house RM Sotheby’s announced on Instagram. After Federer announced his plans to retire after the Laver Cup, Mercedes worked with Federer to create a special car to celebrate the Swiss’ remarkable career.
Federer, a former 20-time Grand Slam champion, has decided to auction the car and donate all proceeds to charity.

The lucky buyer now has a Mercedes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and a 150 kW electric motor that produces a total of 831 horsepower and 1082 pound-feet of torque — that power is sent to each wheel through a nine-speed automatic gearbox
Federer enjoys a relaxed life in retirement
Last week, Federer traveled to Tokyo for the Uniqlo event.
During the tournament, Federer spoke about the relaxed life he’s been leading since the end of his professional tennis career. “As a tennis player, you’re always thinking about your next practice, your next match.
It never lets you go, your next trip, your next suitcase. I guess I’m not that aware of how that thought is always there, driving with you until you retire and then you realize the stress melts away.
Example of doping. We have to fill out anti-doping forms for one hour every day where you are. You are always aware in the back of your mind that they could arrive at any moment, especially at this hour. As soon as it all fades away, you really feel lighter, relieved that after 25 years you really can live normally again,” Federer explained.
Federer, who underwent knee surgery in August 2021, was hoping to make a final comeback in 2022. Unfortunately, Federer’s knee did not progress well and the Swiss had to retire.
