Thai Scientists Research Reveals Lizard Blood Effectively Kills Covid-19

BANGKOK – After the Camel claimed to be able to heal Covid-19, A group of researchers at a university in Bangkok claims that the blood of newts aka monitor lizards contains substances that can prevent cancer, bacteria, and possibly the Covid-19 virus.

Prof. Jitkamol Thanasak from Mahidol University’s School of Veterinary Medicine said the research team will explore the secret to the newt’s strong immune system so that it can live in contaminated water and eat carrion.

He said the research team had also received permission from the government to take newt blood samples for research.

Blood samples were used to study the characteristics of the proteins that make up the newt’s immune system.

“Researchers have found that the protein can kill cancer cells, bacteria and possibly prevent viral infections, including Covid-19, “he told Nation Thailand.

The research team plans to patent the study after thorough research has been carried out.

They are expected to complete preliminary studies by the end of this year before being used to test levels of effectiveness against influenza and Covid-19.

A scientist from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is pioneering research on the immunity of camels to the Covid-19 virus. This research is believed to provide important answers on how to deal with the global pandemic and treat Covid-19 patients.

According to Al Arabiya, veterinary microbiologist in Dubai and head of the UAE’s Central Animal Research Laboratory Ulrich Wernery and his team injected dead samples of the Covid-19 virus into camels. This experiment is to check the antibodies produced by these desert animals.
Camels were previously known to cause Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), the coronavirus that precedes Covid-19. MERS causes acute respiratory illness, digestive problems, kidney failure and even death. However, recent research suggests that camels are actually immune, even to the new coronavirus.

This immunity occurs because the camel does not have a viral receptor, a host cell recognized by the virus as a gateway to enter the cell. While this is owned by humans and other animals that make them vulnerable to Covid-19.

“MERS-CoV, [unta] can anchor but not hurt. With Covid-19 , The virus cannot attach to the camel’s mucosal cells in the respiratory tract because the receptors are absent or blunted,” he said.

“This makes it all very interesting. Apart from humans, stoats and small and large cats, such as tigers and lions, can catch Covid-19. And can transmit the virus to other cats or to humans and vice versa. But that’s not the case with camels,” he added.
