AUSTIN, TX - The Texas Longhorns provided updates on the injury status of key players Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s rivalry game against Arkansas. Linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. is listed as questionable after reportedly suffering a broken hand during the loss to Georgia, casting doubt on his availability. Wide receiver Ryan Wingo is probable after sustaining an undisclosed injury in Athens.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian expressed optimism regarding both players’ potential availability during his Monday press conference, though Wingo appears to be on a more positive recovery trajectory.
The injury report comes with the Longhorns entering their final game before the end of the regular season. Hill leads the team in tackles. Wingo’s potential return would bolster the receiving corps.
On the Arkansas side, seven players have been ruled out. Razorbacks running back Braylen Russell and defensive end Charlie Collins are also listed as questionable, having missed the recent loss to LSU. Russell has 55 carries for 286 yards and five touchdowns this season, excelling in the red zone with 20 carries and five touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry and securing six first downs. Collins, a backup to Quincy Rhodes Jr., has recorded nine tackles, one tackle for loss, and three stops in 164 snaps this season.
