Austin,Texas—History was made on the sands of the LSU beach Volleyball Stadium as No. 7 Texas Beach Volleyball secured a decisive 3-0 victory over No. 8 Florida State to clinch the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Tournament Championship. The Longhorns,with a season record of 27-9,seized their first conference title in their very first season in the league [[3]].
Championship Match Highlights
The championship match showcased the Longhorns’ dominance and teamwork:
- The No. 4 pair of Noa Sonneville and Macey Butler set the tone early, securing a 21-16, 14-21, 15-12 victory.
- The No. 2 duo of Emma Grace Robertson and Katie Hashman battled through a thrilling back-and-forth duel, claiming a 21-16, 14-21, 24-22 win.
- Maddison Parmelly and Karin Zolnercikova, the No. 3 pair, sealed the championship with a 21-7, 16-21, 15-10 victory.

A victory against California would advance Texas to face either No. 2 TCU or No. 15 Georgia State on May 3.
Looking Ahead: Matchup Against California
Texas and California have split their previous two encounters this season, with both matches going the distance to five sets. The Bears claimed the most recent victory,3-2,on March 21 at home. This was one of only two home losses for the Longhorns this season.
