Tesla vehicles will no longer have ultrasonic sensors – VTM.cz

Tesla recently announced, which has decided to remove the ultrasonic sensors (USS) from their vehicles and replace them with a Full Self-Driving system. This was pointed out by the server Teslarati.

As noted by Tesla’s longtime owner and FSD beta tester known under the moniker @ brandonee916, there have been signs that Musk’s automaker has been wanting to make this move for some time.

Incidentally, it seems that the Cybertruck prototypes so far – which will be the first to use a Hardware 4.0 computer – do not have USS at all. You will only find cameras on the bumpers.

After?

Some may argue that Tesla may want to equip the electric pickup truck in question with ultrasonic sensors at a later date. However, due to its strong steel exoskeleton, this would be quite difficult.

Considering this fact, according to Teslarati, it can be assumed that the absence of the USS had already been taken into account when designing the Cybertruck.

Recall that the prototype that was recently spotted in public shortly after undergoing severe testing, among other things, it had something that looked like a camera calibration device. So Tesla obviously pays a lot of attention to “tuning” him.
