In the last 3 months of 2022, Tesla earned $24.3 billion in revenue, a 37% increase from the same quarter a year earlier. The brand achieved a turnover of 81.4 billion dollars for the whole of 2022, again with an increase of 51% compared to 2021. Gross profit is also up by 19%, with an amount of 5.7 billion dollars recovered.
In detail, it is obviously the sale of electric vehicles which constitutes the heart of Tesla’s activities, with a turnover for this activity alone of 21.3 billion dollars. The group’s other areas of expertise, such as energy storage, the sale of solar panels and the distribution of electricity through the fleet of chargers installed around the world, brought in the brand 3 billion dollars in this last quarter of 2022 alone. Finally, the operating margin was 16%, which is simply double the average observed in the automotive industry.
Investors particularly appreciated these figures, and after having sanctioned the title Tesla for months, the action started to rise again, to more than 7%.
