Tesla boss allows youth drone via Giga Berlin> teslamag.de

Among the local observers who report on the progress of the planned Tesla Gigafactory in Grünheide, Brandenburg, there is not only the high school graduate Emil Senkel, about whom teslamag.de, the supposedly youngest German Tesla watcher, has already written: With Tesla Kid Grünheide also reports on YouTube that a 13-year-old says that the Gigafactory is happening. And he has now received the blessing from above: After a police operation on one of his drone overflights, Tesla Kid CEO Elon Musk personally asked for an official permit – and has actually received it after a large Internet echo.

Update: The top Tesla blessing has already arrived on site. As Tesla Kid reported on Twitter, security staff was already expecting him on a new trip to the Gigafactory site this Friday – “and YES, from now on I can officially fly my drone over the Giga Berlin grounds ”.

Police: 400 meter barrier around Tesla Land

“No more drone footage of Tesla Giga Berlin,” was the title of a YouTube video from the end of March in which Tesla Kid reported an unpleasant experience during his latest flight attempt. After 10 minutes, he was approached by a security employee and asked to bring the drone over to him – flights over the Tesla site were illegal. The police were also called and, according to his description, explained to the youngster that a no-fly zone had been set up there. Only flights at least 400 meters away from the Gigafactory property line are permitted.

In fact, flights in the area of the upcoming Tesla factory are generally restricted because part of it is in the control zone of Berlin Schönefeld Airport, as the drone service provider Flynex explained at the end of February; In addition, public roads and the railway line that cuts through the area must be kept 100 meters away. There is currently no sign of a special 400-meter ban zone for flights in the area on a Flynex map.

However, as he reports in the video not without pride, Tesla Kid was probably the only observer to fly directly over the site with his drone. And as the owner of the property in Germany, Tesla can definitely prohibit that, flynex further explained: For every flight over private grounds, a permit is required regardless of general exclusion zones.

Tesla boss reacts to exaggeration

But that’s exactly what the young Tesla fan has got: As requested in the video, many others reported his drone needs on social media. This week, among others, did Podcat Third Row Tesla, whose team had a long interview with CEO Musk. The description of Third Row was hopelessly exaggerated (Tesla Kid was apparently “almost arrested”, it was said), but did not fail to have an effect: “No problem on my part,” Musk commented on the post 5 minutes later, asking for it a drone permit for Tesla Kid.

And that should mean: As long as he stays under 50 meters in the airport control zone and otherwise talks to the air traffic control, Tesla Kid can now take photos of the Gigafactory site again personally with the blessing of the Tesla boss. Of course, an open question so far is whether German security forces and police officers will be satisfied with a Twitter message from the CEO as official permission.
