On Tuesday, the Austrian public radio and television broadcaster ORF said that Austrian police had detained a man in Linz in northern Austria after the attack. The man was led out of the house in handcuffs by heavily armed policemen. It is not known whether the detained man described in the media as an Islamist was related to Monday’s attack in the Austrian capital, which killed four civilians and injured 17. The attacker was shot dead by the police.

During a press conference, Nehammer reported that the police carried out 18 raids on the homes of people associated with the perpetrator of the attack in Vienna killed by the police.
