Novak Djokovic is officially the new record man at the top of the tennis world rankings.
The 33-year-old Serb took first place in the ATP rankings for a total of 311 weeks and overtook Grand Slam record champion Roger Federer (Switzerland / 310) on Monday.
Third in the prominent list is Pete Sampras (USA / 286). The all-time record for men and women is held by Steffi Graf, who was number one in the world for a total of 377 weeks, including 186 weeks in a row.
Djokovic has Graf’s all-time record in view
Djokovic took the lead for the first time on July 4, 2011 after his first Wimbledon victory. The 18-time Grand Slam champion has been at the top without interruption since February 3, 2020. He can now fully focus on his second big goal: Djokovic also wants to overtake Federer and Spaniard Rafael Nadal (both 20) in the record list of most major victories.
