Tenerife seeks to close the signing of Enric Gallego this Tuesday | Radio Club Tenerife | Present

D-day arrived to choose a center forward. Tenerife reaches the final stretch of the summer market with homework done and well positioned on several fronts. The purpose of Juan Carlos Cordero, blue and white sports director, is to close this Tuesday the signing of his favorite striker: the Catalan Enric Gallego Puigsech, who has proven his scoring solvency in other First and Second clubs; and that he has been free for a few days.

The work of the Tenerife professional has been arduous in search of an agreement that this Monday – late at night – was close to crystallizing. The conversations accelerated throughout the afternoon and at the end of the day Gallego was almost convinced of accepting the representative’s multi-year proposal, compared to those of other Second Division clubs that have addressed the attacker himself and his representatives.

The Barcelona striker had wanted to wait until the final stretch of the transfer period to choose a destination and opt for the one that most seduced him. While his environment probed the option of him going to a First, in Tenerife they handled his name with absolute secrecy and discretion as a priority. But also others such as that of the Tunisian Yoann Touzghar, who continues to like him and who is not ruled out for this market or the next, although his hiring was very complicated on Sunday when Troyes saw the acquisition of the battering ram that he had chosen as a replacement truncated. Curiously, the one from Tunisia is the same age as Galician: 34 years old.

In the club they trust that this Tuesday is the final day. Also to resolve the exit to loan (with shared card) of the youth squad Elliot, to sign the transfer to Levante (with purchase option) of the striker Jorge Padilla and to clarify what happens with Alberto. They are the last pending steps for Cordero, who is still looking to make one last effort with two other objectives in the chamber: another attacker, if there was a salary margin; and a midfielder who gives air to a team drowned by casualties like those of Javi Alonso or Aitor Sanz, both injured.

The data

Enric Gallego (born in Bon Pastor, 34 years old) recently left Atlético Osasuna. His most outstanding figures have been in the Second Division. Before playing in the red box, he did it for Getafe, Huesca and Extremadura.

Valladolid, Huesca, Sporting, Zaragoza and Malaga are among the clubs that had positioned themselves for his signing. But Cordero began the persuasion task long before the rest. And in their favor would have weighed the good league start of the Blue and Whites, the leading role that Ramis would give Gallego in their line-ups and, most importantly, the project that they have proposed to the attacker. That he would not come just for a year, nor on loan, as it happened with Fran Sol a single season ago.

Although the terms of a possible agreement would be closed in the next few hours if Gallego gives the definitive yes to Tenerife, during the conversations with his agents the option of offering him a contract for two years with an option to a third party has already been valued. The negotiation is advanced, not yet completely closed. This Tuesday, key day. What seemed unattainable a few days ago is now closer than ever.
