Ten killed, 11 injured in bus accident in northern Sydney’s Hunter area: Australian Police

Australian police announced Monday that ten people were killed and 11 injured in a bus accident in the Hunter area in northern Sydney.

And the police said in a statement that the scene of the accident was cordoned off, “and the bus driver, who is 58 years old, was taken to hospital under police guard for examination and mandatory analysis.”

Police said they went late Sunday night to an intersection near the small town of Greta, “after receiving news of a bus overturned.”

And it indicated in the statement that “the first elements of the investigation show that ten people were killed, and 11 people were transferred to hospital by land and helicopters, and 18 passengers were not injured,” and pointed out that this outcome is temporary.

“The scene of the accident, which will be examined by the specialized criminal police, has been cordoned off,” it added.

Local media reported that the bus was believed to have been returning from a wedding at a nearby vineyard.
