The teams from the Optic 2ooo stores in Orange, Marguerittes and Nîmes are organizing a 75km relay race this Saturday, December 4, 2021 between Orange and Nîmes. Running for a good cause, that of the Telethon.
The start of the race was given at 8:30 am at the Antique Theater of Orange for an arrival between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm in Nîmes. Anyone can participate and join the riders at each stage (approximately every 8 km). The runners will stop in particular around 1:30 p.m. at the Pont du Gard, around 4 p.m. at the Optic 2ooo in Marguerittes and around 5:30 p.m. at the Optic 2ooo in Nîmes. The race is free, participants can make a donation for the benefit of the AFM-Telethon via an e-fundraiser created for the occasion. These donations fund research and development of innovative therapies for rare diseases, in particular genetic eye diseases.
An e-collection available
On arrival in Nîmes, the runners will be able to participate in the realization of the N in the Arenas; Nîmes being one of the light cities of the Telethon 2021, its initial will be used to compose the word Telethon. Several runners have announced their participation, such as the Orange and Avignon Firefighters, the Défi Téléthon Force B association, the Courir avec Sarah association and several people who wish to support research with the AFM-Telethon. Each participant can make a donation to the AFM-Telethon via an e-fundraising set up by Julia Richard, optician certified by the Optic 2ooo store in Orange. It is accessible in clicking here.
10 million since 2012
Optic 2ooo has been a partner of AFM-Telethon for 10 years. The brand has just renewed its commitment alongside the association for two years. A mobilization on the part of the opticians of the network who make their employees and customers aware of the challenges of research and donate € 1 to the association for each second pair of glasses sold. The stores are also collection points and provide customers with an urn and donation envelopes for the association. Since 2012, Optic 2ooo and its partners have been able to donate more than 10 million euros to the association.
