Telegram provides video calling features for up to 30 users.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — In a blog post, the popular messaging app Telegram outlined the many new updates coming to its app. The most significant is “Group Video Calling 2.0” where video calls of up to 30 participants can broadcast their cameras and screens to up to 1,000 viewers.
Video messaging has been updated to 2.0. This means that circular press-hold video messages are now higher resolution and users can tap on the message to expand the circular video. Users can also pause and swipe video messages. Users can also now record voice messages and your background audio won’t stop.
Reported from GSMArena, Sunday (1/8), videos sent via Telegram can now be watched at 0.5x, 1.5x or 2.0x speeds. Android will also support 0.2x speed. Telegram 1-on-1 video calls now allow users to share screens with audio, and there’s a new auto-delete interval for deleting messages after one month. Users can now draw more precisely onto images before sending them to friends or groups.
There are now more animations on the passcode screen and messages that users add to chats will be animated in a new way in the Android app too. A new password reset option has been added to app settings that will help users recover passwords in seven days if they don’t have a recovery password.
Lastly, there are new animated emojis including dance emoji, fist, broken heart and sad face emoji. The iOS app also gets integration with the camera app on iOS so users can switch to zoom or wide camera when taking photos directly in the Telegram app.
