Dan Trachtenberg’s contribution to the franchise takes us 300 years back in time, where a young woman is confronted with an alien beast.
This summer, it’s time again for the “Predator” franchise to get new life. Four years after the last part, now comes the prequel “Prey”, the fifth film in the series, for which we have now received a first teaser.
The plot of “Prey” takes us 300 years back in time, to the region of Comancheria, and focuses on the young woman Naru (played by Amber Midthunder), raised by tough warriors and trained to protect her surroundings from various dangers. One day she is out chasing a new prey, which on closer inspection turns out to be an alien predator, which she will have to try to defeat in a dangerous confrontation.
The action thriller was directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who is making his second feature film after the psychological thriller “10 Cloverfield Lane”. The new clip only gives us a brief first look at what his contribution to the “Predator” series has to offer, but at least it looks exciting and intense.
“Prey” has its American streaming premiere on Hulu on August 5, while we in Sweden can expect to see the film on Disney +.
