Teams to the last 16 of the African Cup of Nations announced

In the tournament hosted by Cameroon, Senegal finished Group B as the leader and advanced to the last 16 despite a 0-0 draw with Malawi.

Finishing the group in 3rd place with 4 points, Malawi will wait to be among the top four third teams in 6 groups in order to stay in the round of 16.

In the other match of the group, although Guinea lost 2-1 to Zimbabwe, they finished the group in 2nd place and remained in the round of 16.

Rwandan referee Salima Rhadia Mukansanga, 35, managed the Group B match between Zimbabwe and Guinea, becoming the first female referee to whistle in an African Cup of Nations match.

In the Group C match, Gabon and Morocco drew 2-2. Gabon’s Jim Allevinah put his team ahead in the 21st minute. Morocco caught the draw in the 74th minute with Sofiane Boufal’s goal. Gabon, who took the lead again in the 81st minute with the goal of Aaron Boupendza, maintained its superiority for 3 minutes and Morocco caught the draw again with the goal of Achraf Hakimi in the 84th minute.

In the other match of the group, Comoros defeated Ghana 3-2. With these results, Morocco and Gabon made their names in the round of 16.
