Both are currently just rumors. But while the Texans at Deshaun Watson are following a clear line and are currently canceling all inquiring teams, the Jets are a little more open about their quarterback Sam Darnold.
In the last few days different teams have sought contact with the jets. The aim is to explore the opportunities for a Darnold trade. An official confirmation of incoming trade inquiries from the New York Jets has not yet been received. Nevertheless, it is considered certain in the US media landscape that the first teams have already made contact with the New York franchise.
Potential prospects
There are plenty of potential buyers for 23-year-old Sam Darnold. Far ahead are those who were already interested in a trade from Matthew Stafford but lost out to the Lions. These include the Washington Football Team, the Indianapolis Colts, the Carolina Panthers, the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears. But the New England Patriots are also likely to be looking for a new franchise quarterback.
So far, the New York Jets haven’t decided whether they really want to trade Sam Darnold. After the engagement of Robert Saleh as the new head coach, the franchise is currently in the development phase.
