Malaysian Duo Narrowly Miss World Title at 2025 World Corporate Golf Challenge in Shanghai
SHANGHAI, November 11th – A Malaysian team came within a single point of claiming the championship title at the 32nd World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) World Final, held October 19-23 at the Dongzhuang Beach golf Club in Shanghai. Widad skycore’s Isyraf Widad Muhammad ikmal Opat and Muhammad Adib Ibrahim secured a strong second-place finish wiht a combined score of 80 points over two days.
The duo was edged out by China‘s Guojiao 1573 Team 2, who took first place with 81 points. Another Chinese team, Guojiao 1573 Team 1, rounded out the podium with a score of 79.
Team Leonian Malaysia, represented by Anushka Gayan and Lee robert, also delivered a commendable performance, finishing fifth in the highly competitive international field with 74 points.
The WCGC brought together corporate golfers and executives from five continents, combining high-level competition with networking opportunities and cultural experiences. Participants enjoyed play on the Linksland and Parkland courses, alongside events including the Sports Legends Cup, a cruise on Shanghai’s Huangpu River, and a black-tie awards gala at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel.
The event, themed “Bringing the World of Golf & Business Together,” solidified the WCGC’s position as the world’s leading corporate golf platform.
His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah, royal patron of WCGC Malaysia, congratulated the malaysian teams on their performance. “I congratulate all the winners and hope that greater success will be achieved in future WCGC tournaments,both in Malaysia and internationally,” he stated.
