Taxi drivers from Lalín (Pontevedra), may benefit from aid in the sector
This past week a meeting took place between the mayor of Lelín, José Crespo, the councilors and representatives of the taxi sector.
Crespo explained to those present the importance of adopting strict safety measures in their work, such as partitions in their vehicles or the use of masks and hygiene measures, both for professionals and for their clients.
The councilors explained to the sector that the Xunta plans to take out an aid order for the installation of protection partitions that cover up to 75 euros per unit.
The mayor encouraged them to apply for these grants, which can be processed electronically, although he gave them the possibility of giving them advice and municipal support in managing them, an offer that all the taxi drivers willingly accepted.
On the other hand, taxi drivers from La Linea to the mayor a new location for the Colón street stop, a location to which they were transferred during the last mandate.
The sector also demanded that the telephone booths of its stops be provided with electricity, carry advertising for the Council in their vehicles, or that a small stop with two or three seats be set up next to the ambulatory.
