Frankfurt / Main (dpa) – IG Metall wants to negotiate quickly with employers in the metal and electrical industry in the Mitte district about taking over the pilot contract from North Rhine-Westphalia. Talks with the Hessenmetall association are planned for this Wednesday (11 a.m.) in Mainz, the union in Frankfurt announced. The deal in North Rhine-Westphalia is a good compromise that one wants to join, said a spokesman for the German press agency on Tuesday. “IG Metall Mitte aims to take over the pilot degree from North Rhine-Westphalia before Easter.”

According to its own information, the union negotiates for 380,000 industry employees in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. There will be separate discussions for the employees in Thuringia. Recently there had been warning strikes in many companies in the metal and electrical industry.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, IG Metall and employers agreed on a new collective agreement on Tuesday night. Among other things, this provides for a corona bonus and annually recurring special payments for employees in the country.
