Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, the president’s advisor for health affairs, was a guest of journalist Sherif Amer, yesterday, on the “Happening in Egypt” program broadcast on the channel “mbc Egypt”, and spoke in his interview about the latest developments related to the emerging corona virus.

“Taj al-Din” resolved the controversy over the effectiveness of the vaccine for the virus, saying: “As long as the vaccine entered the Arab Republic of Egypt and was approved by the authorities responsible for these vaccines, we can certainly submit to it without concern.”

He explained: “There is no doubt that there is a trend by the state, health authorities and scientific committees that the safety and security of Egyptians is the first priority, and according to the global standards available at this time and the vaccines that have been internationally approved and used in many countries, the vaccines that will be used in Egypt have been chosen.”

He added: “It is not necessary for the vaccine to be from one source, for example the influenza vaccine that is currently used in Egypt is taken from more than one source, but it is internationally approved,” indicating that any vaccine that meets the available international standards can be used.

The Minister of Finance reveals the details of the contract to purchase 20 million doses of the Corona vaccine

Dr. Muhammad Maait spoke during his intervention with journalist Ahmed Moussa on the “On My Responsibility” program broadcast on the “Sada Al Balad” satellite channel, about the details of the comprehensive health insurance system, and the details of contracting the emerging coronavirus vaccines.

“Maait” said that the ministries of health and finance were authorized to sign an order to purchase 20 million doses of the vaccine by the medical committee, adding that any vaccine that is approved we can go to it as long as it is approved by the concerned medical committee in Egypt.

He added, “We are ready to buy vaccines in terms of funding, because citizens’ health is above any consideration,” explaining that the funding does not represent a problem and it depends on the decision of the scientific committee.

Regarding the cost of obtaining the 20 million doses, he explained: “The cost of obtaining the agreed doses varies depending on the type of vaccine and the place from which it will be obtained.”
