The St. Kamillus Columbarium has announced the next events: the talk with Heinz-Josef Claßen and the poetry slam with Marco Jonas Jahn. Claßen accompanied the columbarium for five years, until 2020, with a lot of passion. On Friday, July 30th, starting at 7.30 p.m., he will tell about the history and development of the non-denominational urn site. With rhetorical skill he reveals his favorite anecdotes and then passes the floor over to his successor Sandra Schönenborn. She has been the contact person at the St. Kamillus Columbarium since October 2020 and reports on news: Transparency, simplicity and carefree commemoration are in the foreground. At 3 p.m. there is a guided tour through the columbarium and parts of the monastery with Heinz-Josef Claßen.

And on Tuesday, August 17th, the poetry slam with Marco Jonas Jahn will be just as entertaining. The 45-year-old will entertain the audience with an excerpt from his humorous short stories. Jahn receives support from the two literary performers Katinka Buddenkotte and Alexander Bach. However, there is also something new for the stage-experienced word acrobat Jahn: Although he has been living in Mönchengladbach not far from the St. Kamillus Columbarium for six years, it will be his first appearance there. “So far I’ve only ever passed it,” says Jahn: “It is all the nicer now for me to perform here. I find venues steeped in history very attractive anyway and am particularly looking forward to this evening. “
