Taliban Issues Women’s Rights Decree: Ban Forced Marriage, Education Is Not Offended

TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Government Taliban issued a decree that said women in Afghanistan should not be considered “property”, and women must give their own consent to the marriage offer.

Reported Independent, the militant group’s latest decree was issued on Friday (12/3/2021).

The decree addresses a number of issues but does not address basic rights for women, including the right to education and work outside the home.

Until now, Taliban has ruled Afghanistan for more than three months.

“No one can give it to anyone in exchange for peace … or to end or to end hostilities,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement.
