Taiwan sends patrols in response to China military exercises

In recent days, several Chinese planes and ships have entered Taiwan’s waters and airspace, ostensibly during a major military exercise. According to Taiwan, there were 20 fighter jets, 14 other planes or helicopters and 14 naval ships yesterday alone.

Taiwan says that China perform simulation attacks on the island and the military ships of Taiwan. View images of the exercises, which are still going on today:

China is conducting a major military exercise around Taiwan after top US politician Nancy Pelosi visited the island state.

Provocation

China, which considers Taiwan a renegade province, saw Pelosi’s visit as a provocation. It has therefore taken several measures against the United States. For example, cooperation in the field of transnational crime prevention and the repatriation of illegal migrants will be terminated. Beijing also pauses talks on climate change between the two countries.
