Taiwan Hot! Putin Gives Special Message to Xi Jinping

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Russia Vladimir Putin gives a message to Chinese President Xi Jinping. This is related to the country’s tension with Taiwan.

He said China “does not need to use force” to achieve unification in the state. He asked Xi Jinping to unite peacefully.

“I don’t think China needs to use force. China is a very strong economy, and in terms of purchasing parity China is the number one economy in the world ahead of the United States (US) now,” the Russian president was quoted as saying. CNBC International in an interview on the sidelines of the energy conference in Moscow, Wednesday (13/10/2021).

“By increasing this economic potential, China is able to implement its national goals. I don’t see any threat.”

Putin also said the same thing to China regarding the South China Sea (SCS). According to him, there are several different views of Russia on this matter, where opportunities for all countries in the region must be opened.

However, he stressed that intervention from other countries outside the region is certainly unacceptable. It is believed to be aimed at the US and Europe.

“It has to be a negotiating process, that’s how we resolve any argument, and I believe there is potential for that.”

The situation between China and Taiwan has been hot in recent months when China has intensively flew its fighter planes into the island’s skies. In a speech last week, Xi Jinping even emphasized the “unification of Taiwan that will soon be realized”.

Meanwhile, as if replying to Xi Jinping, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen said he would continue to strengthen the country’s defenses. He ensured that no one could force Taiwan to reconcile with China.

He said China does not offer freedom and democracy. He further emphasized that he would strengthen national defense.
