The win improves Taiwan’s record to 3 wins and 1 loss in the preliminary round.Starting pitcher Wang Yixiang delivered a strong performance, pitching four scoreless innings while allowing five hits and striking out four batters. He earned the win. Reliever He Hua conceded one run due to errors and hits in the fifth and sixth innings, totaling two runs across two innings pitched, but prevented further scoring. Lin junxi closed out the game with a scoreless final inning, securing the victory.
Australia threatened in the early innings, but Wang Yixiang effectively navigated pressure, including a strikeout at a critical moment to stifle a potential rally.Despite walking batters in the fourth inning, he prevented the Australian team from mounting a sustained offensive.
Taiwan will face Germany in thier final preliminary round game at 5:30 pm tomorrow. Germany lost to Panama today and currently holds a 2 wins and 2 losses record.
