UTMA head Dirkstys Backs Kavaliauskas Victory, Sets Sights on Masloboev‘s Title
vilnius – Darius Dirkstys, head of the Global Trading Martial Arts (UTMA) organization, affirmed his belief that Egidijus Kavaliauskas was the rightful winner of his recent fight against silver Molina, while simultaneously outlining his ambition to challenge sergey Masloboev for the top spot in Lithuanian boxing. Dirkstys’ comments come as Kavaliauskas’ close-fought victory sparks debate among fans adn analysts, and as Dirkstys himself rapidly ascends in the professional boxing scene.
Dirkstys acknowledged Masloboev’s established career, noting the veteran fighter’s 20 years in the professional ring compared to his own 2-3 years. However, he expressed confidence in his potential to surpass Masloboev, stating, “He is definitely the best in our country in terms of his achievements, but I came to take over this title… He is good, but he had a longer period of time to do more than me.” He further emphasized his competitive drive, adding, “I had met S.Masloboyev, I came to him, I say gift he showed me one… and did not shake his hand. Why did he take it so personally, if something is not clear to him, we can find out in January.”
Regarding the Kavaliauskas-Molina bout, Dirkstys stated unequivocally, “I think that Egidijus won that fight, he performed well, at least he really won, of course it’s not fun when you lose in a close fight.” His assessment provides support for Kavaliauskas amidst scrutiny of the judges’ decision.
